A Little Inn on Pleasant Bay

We decided at the last minute to spend Memorial Day weekend on the Cape. I was fortunate to secure the only available room at the Little Inn, a particular favorite. The inn is owned and run by Sandra and Pamela, two sisters from London, and Bernd, Sandra's German-born husband.

After one of Bernd's sumptuous breakfasts, I'd recommend a bit of relaxation in one of the Adirondack chairs overlooking Pleasant Bay. Located on the Orleans/Harwich line, the inn is a luxurious base camp for the exploration of Chatham to the south and Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and Provincetown to the north.

The inn's grounds and gardens are lovingly maintained. The property has its own small pond and salt water swimming/fishing dock. A cranberry bog borders to the south.

All the rooms are named after small one-design sailboats. We stayed in Sharpie, one of the "bay rooms" built on the footprint of an old cottage.

Hey, don't tell anyone else about this place. It's too good to share.
